This morning I was awakened by the scream of my mom being beat by my dad. This is the occasional noise I hear either in the morning or the night. It was harsh and I was frightened to go downstairs for breakfast. I got out of my bed at 6:30 a.m. and hopped in my shower. When I got out I heard a shriek from my dog that was barking at my dad. When I put on my Jordan’s I knew that downstairs would be a place where I needed to get my breakfast bagel and get out of that house immediately. When I went downstairs I saw my dad cleaning something off the floor, which happened to be my mom’s blood. I looked at it and it made me loose my appetite so I ran out of the house to catch the 7:00 a.m. school bus that had nobody on it except me and the bus driver. I had previously asked the bus driver to pick me up first so I could have some time to myself before the seniors got on the bus who picked on me 24/7. However this morning the seniors did not get on the bus because it was Monday and they would probably be late to school. I was very happy because today I had an art test that I needed to study for and I was able to on the bus without being called names because I am black. When I arrived at Merryweather High School, I walked in to my locker and was immediately stopped by a senior that always picked on me in school and at basketball practice. When the first bell rang I rushed to art to get the best seat to get ready for the test. After studying, I knew that I was going to ace the test. Mr. Freeman walked in to the class and said, “Who is ready to fail?” I thought that my life was over because if I failed this test then I could not play in the big rivalry game on Wednesday.
